What is ducted reverse cycle air conditioning?
A ducted air conditioner provides whole house comfort by delivering conditioned (cooled or warmed) air to every room via ducts and dispersing it with outlets. A reverse cycle system consists of an indoor and outdoor unit, that exchange warmed or cooled refrigerant by copper pair coil to change the temperature of the air inside the house. Your Midea indoor unit is hidden in the roof space out of view, and is connected to ductwork to deliver conditioned air throughout the home. Being discrete, it can work easily with your home’s decor.
No need for a seperate heating or cooling system
A reverse cycle system can deliver heated or cooled air to provide both a heating solution for winter, and cooling solution for summer in one.
Capacity
A ducted air conditioner’s output is measured in kW (kilowatts), normally one set for cooling and another for heating. It is important to choose the right capacity for your home, which your installer can help with. If you choose a system that is too small, it won’t be able to cool or heat your entire house properly, but if you choose a system that is too powerful, it may be turning itself on and off regularly, increasing energy use and wear on the system (potentially decreasing its service life).
In the inside unit, a fan draws air in through the return air grille, then over a refrigerant coil filled with warmed or cooled refrigerant where it changes temperature, and then back out into the house through your ductwork.
